Genre Research: Thriller
Hey bloggers! We made a genre PowerPoint. The genre we chose to do was thriller. We chose the thriller genre because it seems to be very popular and interesting. For this I worked with my partner Misharma. In this genre PowerPoint we gave examples of what will usually be seen in a thriller movie. Every genre has signature sounds and props that are used. In this PowerPoint we talked about different movies and what we usually be seen in it. In the first PowerPoint we talked about the common lighting. Thriller movies are known for a mysterious and suspicious lighting. The angle that the lighting is shining could be very essential to give it a scary vibe. In the second slide we talked about Camera angles. It is very important that they are multiple camera angles throughout a filler movie. If the camera was set up in one place the whole movie there would be no interesting or different parts which would make it boring. Camera angles are important for jump scares in the zoom in’s to give the movie more suspense and variety. In the third slid we talk about the common movement. Movement is very important, for example, if there is a running scene. If someone is running from a killer you would want to see the chase and want to see the courses that the person goes through to get away from the killer. In the rest of the slides we gave examples of props, sounds, and some thriller movies. Props such as, knives and blood are what you would see in most thriller movies. Sounds are also important. There are very suspicious sounds that could give a scene suspense. Sometimes when a scene is completely silent it gets boring so background music can be essential. There are many thriller movies all around the world that have grown to be very popular and many are still being made.
