Genre Decision Blog



Hey bloggers! For this project we decided to choose the thriller genre. In this project I will be working with my partner Misharma. We worked together in the past and it ended up well. This is why we chose to do another project together. We chose the thriller genre because at the beginning of the year we made a PowerPoint. Our PowerPoint was based on thriller movies and the genre in general. In this PowerPoint we talked about the different essential things that needed to be in thriller movies. Thriller movies have their signature sounds and props to make it suspicious and scary. Without the necessary things it will not actually be thrilled. So we chose to pick the thriller genre for our two minute clip. We chose to do it because we already know a lot about thriller movies from the PowerPoint we did. Although we liked the other genres. For example, romance and comedy. we were thinking about choosing comedy out of those two. I for one really enjoy comedy movies and think they’re very entertaining. My partner also liked romance movies. She thought that they were very sweet and feel good movies. Although we were choosing between the three movies thriller just stuck out to us. We’d like thriller more out of all the three. We just felt like we were more educated on the thriller genre.

I started to film on October 31, 2020. While filming this commercial there were some ups and downs. For example, my dad was supposed to help me film two of my scenes but then he had to suddenly go out of town so that couldn’t work. I tried to think of other people that I can asked to help me film. In one of my scenes a required movement and I couldn’t just prop up my phone and move it at the same time while I was the person that was supposed to be in that scene. I asked my mom if she could help me and she said yes. So in filming this blog I have to first plan out everything in my mind and what I was going to do. Hey bloggers! My partner and I will be making a music video. We drew out pictures of what we’re gonna do for each scene. This is to keep us organized and do you know what scene is after what. We have decided that we are going to meet up. We feel that if we meet up in person to film this music video, it’ll be executed nicer. In the first scene, we will be showing The actor looking into a mini mirror with a close-up shot. In the second scene there is, The other actor will be looking into the camera. We will be using a canted Dutch angle with a mid shot.In the third scene, this will be us showing our environment around us, this is where our backgrounds will be.In the fourth, it consist of the two actors flipping their hair while walking on walking away, We will be using the tracking shot to film.  Hey bloggers, it’s Tiffanie again. My partner and I have been planning this film. We have been giving each other different ideas on what we should do. We feel like the more creative it is the weather. We were thinking about filming this Saturday. But turns out my partner will still be out of town. Hopefully by the time she gets back will still have a lot of time. Since it’s a long film it will most likely take a lot of time. We might not be able to meet up two days back to back. So we are hoping that one day will be enough although it might take a lot of the day. We have a clear plan in our head on what it should look like but we hope it turns out the way we wanted it to.We are going to try and do really queen transitions and have good backgrounds to make the film look more presentable.
